Kouli Roy Chowdhury

Kouli’s journey to the Chapter Committee began with Dr. X Bridge, a Community of Practice she started after being selected for the Creator Track. That space made visible what many around her already knew: Kouli has a natural, almost effortless gift for gathering people. As a Chapter Committee Lead she channelled that gift into something structural, helping build a culture where Alumni did not just attend events but felt part of something, where the chapter felt less like an organisation and more like a home. She leads with a wide smile, a deep sense of ownership, and an instinctive awareness of how every person in the room is doing. For Kouli, community is not an outcome of events; it is built relationship by relationship, in every small, consistent act of showing up.

Her Teach For India Fellowship in Bengaluru was rooted in exactly that kind of presence. Teaching in an underserved middle school, Kouli went far beyond academics to become a mentor, a listener, and a reliable support system for Students navigating real inequity with limited resources. Even when conditions were difficult, she led with empathy, building deep relationships with children, families, and the wider community. Those years did not just shape her teaching; they shaped how she shows up in every space she enters.

Today, Kouli works as Senior Manager, Brand Communication and Outreach at Computer Shiksha, where she helps bridge India’s digital divide. Her work continues to reflect the values the Fellowship instilled: access, dignity, and the belief that change happens together. Hers is, at its heart, a story about connection, the kind built slowly, with consistency and care, that makes people feel genuinely seen, a thread running from the classroom to the boardroom to the chapter committee table.
